An Overview of Slayer
Introduction.
Slayer is a combat-based skill, where XP is awarded for killing the mobs tasked to you by a slayer master, with harder mobs generally giving more XP.
Choosing a slayer master
Generally, using the highest levelled slayer master is always advised, with the exception of Mandrith who only offers wilderness tasks. Some tasks are higher weighted than others. Use tables on the wiki to check which tasks are more likely to appear, blocking the tasks that have high weight but low XP/h.
Early Slayer - When starting out, early slayer tasks offer poor XP rates, so the player should aim to gain slayer XP from other methods, such as:
⬥ Completing quests.
Presets and Relics
Some base presets are shown below

Note: The gear shown above isn't indicative of what one should wear on every slayer task, as many tasks require specific gear or items, the presets are just a general idea of what to remember to take with you.

Slayer Tips
General tips and tricks.
⬥ Prayer should ALWAYS be used when doing slayer.
⬥ Slayer points should be spent
• After that, toolbelt upgrades for the seedicide, gold accumulator, bonecrusher and charming imp, then abilities such as broader fletching and crafting slayer rings.
• If the player plans to do Gargoyles early on, Finishing blows is a higher priority, however a Legendary Pet can be used for the same effect without purchasing the ability.
Recommendations
Note: Never use hybrid armour, the damage gained from slayer perks does not cover damage lost by not using power armour, most slayer perks are cheap and t70 gear has a low drain rate which suffices for most tasks. If necessary, an item such as Akrisae's Robe Skirt can be used with universal perks.
Useful Items for Slayer
⬥ Kethsi Ring - Provides a 4% damage buff against metal dragons, 8% inside Kuradal's dungeon.
⬥ Darklight - Upgraded after the Dimension of Disaster quest, BiS main hand weapon for killing demons.

⬥ Slayer's Insight - Purchaseable from Shattered Worlds, this ability increases the slayer XP gained by 10% for 30 seconds, with a 120s cooldown.
⬥ Aggression - Purchaseable from Shattered Worlds, this ability draws the aggression of all nearby mobs, with a 90s cooldown.

Slayer Points Farming ^^
• This is done to take advantage of the 10th and 50th task points bonus (110 and 330 respectively, from Laniakea), while doing the nine tasks in between as fast as possible.
⬩ Ideally, you set up a block list that allows you to do all of Jacquelyn tasks inside the Lumbridge Catacombs, and use the NPC Contact spell to receive a new one without leaving the catacombs, speeding this up further.
⬥ This method can net you an average of 660 slayer points/hour.
Recommended Unlocks/Items
⬥ The Blood Pact quest completed ( mandatory )
• Required to access the Lumbridge Catacombs
⬥ Lunar Diplomacy quest completed
⬥ Slayer Masks (Abyss, Dagannoth, Ganodermic)
• Start by going to the Lumbridge Catacombs by teleporting to the Lumbridge Lodestone and walking south to the cemetery.
• Once inside, climb down stairs twice to reach the lower catacombs.
• This method can be done efficiently in two ways.
• After completing your 9 tasks with Jacquelyn, you must go to Laniakea to get assigned your 10th task.

Slayer is a skill where you get assigned tasks by Slayer masters to hunt down a number of monsters. Here are the essential things that you need to know to optimise your experience:
Access to Slayer Masters
Slayer masters can have requirements, these requirements can consist of quests, combat and slayer levels. You should always use the highest levelled Slayer master. Higher level Slayer masters will reward more points upon completing a task and they will assign higher level monsters which yield more experience. Mandrith is a Wilderness Slayer master and his tasks can only be completed in Wilderness. If you do not want to have a chance of getting PKed, you can stick to Laniakea.

Slayer Points
Slayer points are the lifeblood of the skill. You can use these points to unlock monsters, gear, crafting recipes and a lot of quality of life features. you can also use them to block, skip or prefer tasks. Slayer points are awarded for every completed task after the fourth consecutive task. The amount of points you get depends on your Slayer master.
It is highly recommended to complete the quest "Smoking Kills" since you only gain half the Slayer points without it.
Tasks you get from Turael or Spria do not award any points and if you use them to change your task it will reset your Slayer assignment streak, therefore making you have to complete another four assignments to receive points.
Upon completing a task assigned from Mandrith, you will receive a wilderness slayer chest.
Here is a list of Slayer masters and the amount of Slayer points they give:
Slayer Master | Per Task | Per 10th Task | Per 50th Task |
Turael/Spria | 0 | 0 | 0 |
Vannaka | 2 | 10 | 30 |
Mazchna | 4 | 20 | 60 |

Slayer Helmet
This helmet is a craftable helmet which you can craft after unlocking the ability to so from the Slayer reward shop. You should save your slayer points to unlock this helmet as soon as possible. It provides a 12.5%-14.5% increase to damage and accuracy when slaying monsters on-task and it also provides additional slayer headgear effects. There are 6 versions of this helmet, each one is a direct upgrade to the previous one:
Slayer helmet | Damage and Accuracy Bonus | Stat Requirements | Armour bonus | Crafting Materials |
Slayer helmet | 12.5% Melee combat only | 55 Crafting & 10 Defence | 40.4 | Spiny helmet, face mask, earmuffs, nose peg, black mask |
Full slayer helmet | 12.5% All combat styles | 55 Crafting & 20 Defence | 40.4 | Slayer helmet, hexcrest, focus sight |
Reinforced slayer helmet | 13% All combat styles | 55 Crafting & 30 Defence | 90.8 | Full slayer helmet, 100 slayer points |
Strong slayer helmet | 13.5% All combat styles | 55 Crafting & 50 Defence | 170 | Reinforced slayer helmet, 400 slayer points |
Mighty slayer helmet | 14% All combat styles | 55 Crafting & 70 Defence | 297.2 | Strong slayer helmet, 600 slayer points |
Corrupted slayer helmet | 14.5% All combat styles | 55 Crafting & 70 Defence | 297.2 | Mighty slayer helmet, 1000 slayer points, corrupted gem |
Slayer helmet on-task is going to be your best in slot helmet, however if you built a level 3 Slayer Lodge in Anachronia, you can place your helmet on a stand which grants your helmets bonuses across the entire game without needing to wear it.
Other Important Point Shop Rewards
- Ability to craft rings of slaying: These rings provide various teleports all across the game and a great overall quality of life upgrade to your Slayer grind. Costs 300 Slayer points.
- Ability to deliver killing blows quicker: There are some Slayer monsters which require an additional item to deal a killing blow, which you have to manually click everytime. Buying this will make that process automatic. Costs 400 Slayer points.
- Attaching Seedicide to your toolbelt: Seedicide is an item that destroys seeds and in return rewards you with Farming experience. Since a lot of Slayer monsters drop seeds it is a good item to have. Having it in your toolbelt will save you an inventory slot. Costs 500 Slayer points.
- Attaching Advanced Gold Accumulator to your tool belt: This item as you probably have guessed it picks up coins automatically for you. It destroys 10% of anything it picks up but that is not a huge deal. Having it in your toolbelt will save you an inventory slot. Costs 500 Slayer points.
- Ability to fletch broad arrows and bolts: Fletching broad bolts is a cost effective method for training your fletching. It requires level 52 Fletching and costs 300 Slayer points.
- Block & Extend Task: When you are settled for a slayer master workout the tasks you want and do not want. Block the ones you do not wantwhich costs 100 points per block and prefer the ones you want which will increase their chances of being assigned. This also costs 100 points per prefer.
Here are some general tips for your Slayer gear:
- Power armours are better than tank armours in most scenarios.
- Use augmented gear and weapons if possible.
- Cinderbane gloves are best-in-slot for poisonable monsters.
- Demon horn necklace and its lesser variants in combination with a bonecrusher are best-in-slot for monsters that drop bones.
- Blood amulet of fury can be used to heal of monsters if you do not have soul split.
- For all combat styles, 2 handed weapons are better since they have more AOE abilities.
- Luck rings are generally the best in slot for Slayer since they provide bonuses across all combat styles and they allow access to the rare drop table.
- Vampyrism aura can be use to heal and Penance aura can be used to restore prayer points.
- Spring cleaner is a great item to have which automatically alchs items that monsters drop.
- Ancient elven ritual shard is a great item to use to passively restore your prayer points without any cost.
- Dwarf multicannon and its variants are great for certain tasks.
- Gem bag, seed bag and herb bag are great items to save inventory spots and make extra money.
- Holy wrench is an item that passively increases the Prayer points restored from potions.
Hope this guide was helpful! Goodluck on your grind :)

Slayer Master
The Slayer Masters are a group of individuals who offer Slayer assignments . They are members of the Order of the Slayer Masters , a group dedicated to the eradication of dangerous beasts. The Order was founded by Catolax and Faiza amongst others. Each Slayer Master has a disciple, intended to replace them or another Master should they prove unable to do their duties.
The Slayer Masters differ in the difficulty and number of monsters they assign, as well as the number of Slayer points they offer. All standard Slayer Masters also sell useful Slayer equipment .
After Smoking Kills is completed, the completion of tasks from a standard Slayer Master starting after the fourth completed in a row will grant double Slayer points , excluding tasks assigned by Turael or Spria . If the quest has not been completed, the amount of points received will be half, rounded down.

Standard Slayer Masters [ ]
Turael/spria [ ].
The location of Turael/Spria.
Turael , and his daughter and replacement, Spria , are the easiest Slayer Masters. They have no minimum combat or Slayer level requirements before players may receive assignments.
They are located west of the Burthorpe Lodestone.
If a player receives an assignment they do not wish to do, both Turael and Spria may give an easier assignment if the player talks to them. This always works if the assignment is for a creature that isn't assigned by them, and will also work if the player is on a special Slayer challenge . Normally, Turael and Spria will not reassign a task if they can assign that creature themselves. For example, if Duradel assigned a player Desert lizards , then Turael/Spria may not change the task, as they too assign Desert lizards. However, if the number of creatures to be slain is far greater than what he would assign, it is possible that he will change the task. For example, if Duradel assigned 140+ Kalphites , then Turael/Spria will change this, as they would not assign that many to kill. In this case, Turael/Spria will give a new assignment, a new creature to slay or fewer of the same creature - its an entirely new drawing so you can receive the same monster. It is impossible for a player to get Turael/Spria to reassign a task that they gave out.
Slayer points [ ]
Completion of a task assigned by Turael/Spria will not grant any Slayer points nor will they count towards increasing your task total; replacing the task will actually reset the task total, but obtaining a new task while not assigned one by another slayer master will not.
Co-op Slayer points [ ]
Completion of a Social Slayer task assigned by Turael/Spria grants:
- 1 co-op Slayer point
Mazchna/Achtryn [ ]
The location of Mazchna.
Mazchna , and his temporary replacement, Achtryn , are the second-easiest Slayer Masters. The minimum combat level requirement to be assigned tasks from them is 20.
They are located northeast of Canifis . The fastest ways to reach him are to use:
- The Lodestone Network , arriving in Canifis right near them.
- Fairy ring code C K S , arriving west of Canifis.
- Using a Kharyrll portal from your POH .
Completion of a task assigned by Mazchna or Achtryn after completion of Smoking Kills grants:
- 2 Slayer points per normal task
- 5 for every 10th
- 15 for every 50th
This means that if using them over the long term, an average of 2.5 points will be granted per task.
Completion of a Social Slayer task assigned by Mazchna grants:
- 2 co-op Slayer points
Vannaka [ ]
The location of Vannaka.
Vannaka is a medium Slayer Master. The minimum combat level requirement to be assigned tasks from Vannaka is 40.
He was originally located in the Edgeville Dungeon , east of the Wilderness gate. An update in 2021 which introduced the Lumbridge slayer master moved his location South of the Edgeville Bank, next to the Wilderness lever.
- Home Teleport to Edgeville lodestone , arriving north-west of the dungeon entrance.
- Fairy ring code D K R , arriving east of Edgeville.
- An Amulet of glory teleport to Edgeville , north of the dungeon entrance.
Completion of a task assigned by Vannaka after completion of Smoking Kills grants:
- 4 Slayer points per normal task
- 20 for every 10th
- 60 for every 50th
This means that if using Vannaka over the long term, an average of 6.4 points will be granted per task.
Completion of a Social Slayer task assigned by Vannaka grants:
- 3 co-op Slayer points
Chaeldar [ ]
The location of Chaeldar.
Chaeldar is a hard Slayer Master. To be assigned monsters from her, you must have completed Lost City and have a minimum combat level of 75.
She is located in Zanaris . The fastest way to reach her is to use a Fairy Ring to go to Zanaris. Otherwise, one can reach her by entering the shed in the Lumbridge Swamp whilst wielding a Dramen staff or Lunar staff .
Completion of a task assigned by Chaeldar after completion of Smoking Kills grants:
- 10 Slayer points per normal task
- 50 for every 10th
- 150 for every 50th
This means that if using Chaeldar over the long term, an average of 16 points will be granted per task.
Completion of a Social Slayer task assigned by Chaeldar grants:
- 4 co-op Slayer points
The location of Sumona.
Sumona is a harder Slayer Master, usually assigning similar monsters as Duradel but fewer of them. She was added on 5 June 2008 as the central figure behind the Smoking Kills quest. To be assigned tasks by her, players must have completed the quest. To use Sumona as a slayer master, players must have a combat level of at least 90, a Slayer level of at least 35 and have completed Smoking Kills. The quest can be completed at lower combat levels, but Sumona will not assign tasks until her qualifications are met.
Sumona can also be useful at very high Slayer levels (100-120) for players who wish to slay corrupted creatures and soul devourers for their high experience rates. She can assign soul devourers and corrupted creatures, as well as kalphites , dust devils , crocodiles , and desert lizards , which have corrupted variants.
She is located in a house in central Pollnivneach . The fastest ways to reach her are to use:
- Pollnivneach Teleport (from Grand Exchange ).
- A Slayer ring teleport to Pollnivneach.
- Having your Player-owned house in Pollnivneach and using the Teleport to House spell, and walking from there.
- Using a Pollnivneach tablet to go to the player-owned house portal and walking from there.
- Teleporting with a Desert amulet to Nardah and running west across the bridge and north to Pollnivneach.
- Teleport option on the camouflage outfits ( Master set has unlimited teleports; Desert , Prifddinas , and Keldagrim outfits have 5 daily teleports).
Completion of a task assigned by Sumona grants:
- 12 Slayer points per normal task
- 60 for every 10th
- 180 for every 50th
This means that if using Sumona over the long term, an average of 19.2 points will be granted per task.
Completion of a Social Slayer task assigned by Sumona grants:
- 5 co-op Slayer points
Duradel/Lapalok [ ]
The location of Duradel/Lapalok.
Duradel and his replacement, Lapalok , are the fourth-hardest Slayer Masters. To be assigned tasks from Duradel or Lapalok, players must have a Slayer level of at least 50, and a combat level of at least 100.
Also, to be able to enter Shilo Village , where Duradel and Lapalok live, players must have completed the Shilo Village quest.
They are located on the platform bridging the river at the fishing shop in Shilo Village. Although Duradel and Lapalok are usually north of the river (or sometimes on the bridge), they cannot be accessed from north of the river. Instead, enter the fishing shop south of the river, climb the ladder there, and cross the bridge to get to them. The fastest ways to reach Shilo Village are to use:
- Karamja gloves 3 to teleport to the underground gem mine in Shilo Village.
- The Shilo Village cart system to Shilo Village from the north end of Brimhaven.
- Fairy ring code C K R , arriving west of Shilo Village.
Completion of a task assigned by Duradel/Lapalok after completion of Smoking Kills grants:
- 15 Slayer points per normal task
- 75 for every 10th
- 225 for every 50th
This means that if using them over the long term, an average of 24 points will be granted per task.
Completion of a Social Slayer task assigned by Duradel/Lapalok grants:
- 6 co-op Slayer points
Kuradal [ ]
The location of Kuradal.
Kuradal , Duradel 's daughter, is the third-hardest Slayer Master. To be assigned tasks from her, players must have a Slayer level of at least 75, and a combat level of at least 110.
She can be found in the Ancient Cavern , up the stairs in the south-west corner that lead to the Dragon Forge . There are some easy ways to reach her:
- Using a charge of the Ferocious ring , which teleports the player directly to Kuradal.
- Using the Fairy Ring code B J Q . Before it can be used, however, the player must repair the Fairy Ring from inside the Caverns, using 5 bittercap mushrooms and a spade (Requires completion of the quest Fairy Tale II ). This will activate the ring and allow normal transportation to and from Zanaris .
- Entering the Ancient Caverns by jumping the whirlpool off the jetty that is on the northern shore of the Baxtorian Falls lake.
Completion of a task assigned by Kuradal after completion of Smoking Kills grants:
- 18 Slayer points per normal task
- 90 for every 10th
- 270 for every 50th
This means that if using Kuradal over the long term, an average of 28.8 points will be granted per task.
Completion of a Social Slayer task assigned by Kuradal grants:
- 7 co-op Slayer points
Morvran [ ]
The location of Morvran.
Morvran Iorwerth is the second-highest level slayer master, giving even harder tasks than Kuradal. He is the host of a Slayer D&D inside Prifddinas . Completion of Plague's End , a grandmaster quest, is required to receive tasks from him. These tasks consist of various popularly killed monsters assigned by Kuradal. To be assigned monsters from Morvran, players must have a Slayer level of at least 85, and a combat level of at least 120. He can be found slightly south-west of the Prifddinas lodestone.
Morvran has a special challenge where he asks the player to kill "so called 'famous' monsters". "The beasts in question are Falador's giant mole, the Kalphite Queen, the King and Queen Black Dragons, the three Dagannoth Kings, the four God Wars Dungeon generals and, finally, Araxxor". If successful in killing these bosses, you will be granted 50,000 Slayer experience along with 45 Slayer points.
Completion of a task assigned by Morvran after completion of Smoking Kills grants:
- 20 Slayer points per normal task
- 100 for every 10th
- 300 for every 50th
This means that if using Morvran over the long term, an average of 32 points will be granted per task.
Completion of a Social Slayer task assigned by Morvran grants:
- 8 co-op Slayer points
Laniakea [ ]
Lanikea is the highest level slayer master, giving even harder tasks than Morvran. These tasks consist of various popularly killed monsters assigned by Morvran. To be assigned monsters from Lanikea, players must have a Slayer level of at least 90, and a combat level of at least 120. She can be found north of the base camp in Anachronia.
Completion of a task assigned by Laniakea /after completion of Smoking Kills grants:

Specialist [ ]
In addition to the standard eight Slayer Masters, there are several specialist Slayer Masters.
Death/Frank [ ]
Death / Frank runs the Soul Reaper D&D , assigning players a set number of boss monsters to kill on a daily basis. Players must have level 50 combat. These reward Reaper points , which increase or decrease in quantity depending upon several factors, such as the assignment, whether extended and/or group tasks are toggled, and the number of rerolls done. He assigns 1 task per day, but if "Additional Tasks" is purchased he can be paid 250 Slayer points to assign a new Soul Reaper task. During Missing, Presumed Death , Frank, one of Death's clan mates, takes over the Soul Reaper.
Erskine [ ]
Erskine is a warrior who offers slayer contracts for creatures in the Wilderness . The contract offers 20% of the normal Slayer experience per kill. If the player is already on an applicable task, he offers special slayer contracts instead, offering an additional 20% Slayer experience per kill.
Ling offers contracts within the Arc region to slay a number of Acolytes of Seiryu . This requires level 90 Slayer. She rewards chimes and Slayer points for completing her contracts.
Markus is a warrior who offers Slayer contracts for creatures in the Slayer Tower . The contract offers 20% of the normal Slayer experience per kill. If the player is already on an applicable task, he offers Special slayer contracts instead, offering an additional 20% Slayer experience per kill.
The Raptor [ ]
The Raptor briefly became a Slayer Master for the month of November 2015. During this time, he assigned players 1 task per day, which was counted separately from normal Slayer assignments. He had his own gem which could be used to contact him. Once the month was over, he moved on, finding being a Slayer Master boring.
The player [ ]
Players can start the path to becoming their own slayer master by talking to Faiza in the Sunken Pyramid , requiring at least level 99 Slayer. The player needs to collect the soul of every slayer creature, which requires level 117 Slayer to collect them all. However this can be boosted.
Catolax [ ]
Catolax is a founder of the Order of the Slayer Masters and the husband of Faiza. He managed to anger Amascut , who slew him and bound his ghost to his tomb for millennia. During the quest Smoking Kills , his spirit is discovered and freed, after which he takes up residence at the Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon . He does not offer Slayer assignments.
Faiza is a founder of the Order of the Slayer Masters and the wife of Catolax. After Catolax was killed for angering Amascut, the goddess travelled to the Sunken Pyramid and killed Faiza, binding her ghost to the pyramid. She explains the history of the Slayer Masters and gives players with 99 Slayer the Slayer Codex and a number of ushabti , and allows them to personalise the Sunken Pyramid into their own slayer dungeon.
- One of the possible City Quests involves a random Menaphos citizen temporarily becoming a Slayer Master, assigning three random tasks. They may occasionally award Slayer points for completing their tasks, though their tasks do not affect a player's task streak.

A Slayer assignment or Slayer task is given by Slayer masters. When you kill the assigned monsters, you get Slayer experience, which you wouldn't if it weren't your assignment.
Slayer Masters are masters of the Slayer skill who offer slayer assignments to players. Slayer Masters differ in the difficulty and number of monsters they assign, as well as the number of slayer points they offer.
